Let’s begin with a picture of me aged 11. There I am in all my naive, fresh-faced glory. Sure my bangs are kind of feathered and dodgy, but the thing on top of my skull (while no means flattering) doesn’t look too bad.

Until of course, IT DOES.
Here I am again, aged 15. Happily, we can tell that I am a girl by all the posters of horses on the wall behind me because we certainly can’t from the bosoms I am doing my best to conceal underneath my huge shapeless t-shirt. And look! I still have the exact same haircut but at this point I was ACTUALLY PAYING SOMEONE MONEY to do this to me. Money, dare I say, that would have been better spent on an eyebrow wax and some less-round glasses.

(If you have a dodgy photo of your own, feel free to make it a meme and post on your journal or in the comments, for likely I will find them more cheering than the heaps of paperwork I have to do today).

a) You liked horses. We totally would have been friends.
b) Of the two of us, you would have been “the cool one”.
I have a gallery full of embarrassing old photos. Mock away!
I present this one as evidence that I had a perm and a mullet at the same time.
(I’m in the middle.)
I suspect I would have traded you any hair for your beautiful slender legs.
I think my adolescence would have been a lot less painful had I had access to chillers in formative years.
French Plait!
An enviable selecion of horse posters. I also like your patterned skirt!
Thanks – I only wish I still had them!
Later on I had those same round glasses, too. I think they were compulsory.
When did you start wearing glasses??
Re: French Plait!
Minigolf! I remember that. I think I also had those sneakers.
You look very cute in that photo.
I started wearing them when I was 10 and have worn them ever since, except for around age 11 when I experimented with contact lenses for a while.
What about you?
Re: French Plait!
I don’t even remember who made those trainers. CICA? Haha!
Aw, thanks. Maybe I did make quite a cute 72 year old!
